The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), at yesterday’s session in Sarajevo, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the FBiH and the Federal Minister of Finance Jelka Milicevic, adopted the information on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the FBiH on August 1st, 2022, as well as the orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health.

The Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health is in charge of continuously monitoring the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the territory of FBiH and, in case of deterioration, immediately recommend new measures to the Government of the FBiH.

Orders and Recommendations of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health are issued with a validity period of 30 days starting from August 4th, 2022, which is determined as the date of commencement of application of these orders and recommendations.

Health institutions were ordered to reduce visits in accordance with the crisis preparedness and response plan for the emergence of COVID-19. The cantonal public health institutes of cantons are responsible for supervising the implementation and application of the cantonal crisis plan for preparedness and response to the emergence of the new COVID-19.

Competent authorities in cantons, as well as health institutions in cantons, are obliged to open points for vaccination against COVID-19 at the level of each municipality with the aim of greater availability of vaccination to the population.

The Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health will deliver yesterday’s conclusions with attachments to the cantonal ministries of health and their crisis staff, health institutions from the canton area, clinical centers in FBiH, general, cantonal, and special hospitals, Federal and cantonal administrations for inspection affairs and cantonal police administrations.

According to data submitted to the Institute for Public Health of the FBiH, 7.657 active cases of COVID-19 are currently registered in the FBiH.

In the last seven days, Posavina Canton (227.35), Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (129.97), Tuzla Canton (108.93), and West Herzegovina Canton (68.53) have a higher incidence than the average. The results of antigenic tests are not included in this report, and therefore do not show the real state of the epidemiological situation.
