The Office of the High Representative (OHR), with the support of the Steering Committee of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC), formed a working group of experts as part of the process of technical consultations on state assets. This working group has the task of performing a legal analysis at the expert level of various aspects related to the distribution of assets between the state and other levels of government.
The first working session within the technical consultation process was held yesterday in Sarajevo. The working group, which consists of prominent domestic and international legal experts, will organize regular working meetings where its members will evaluate various technical and legal aspects of ownership, use, and management of state assets, and analyze different models of management of these assets, including examples from other countries.
The goal of the Working Group is to collect a number of expert opinions and information in order to provide assistance to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PABiH) in implementing activities aimed at solving the issue of state property.
An acceptable and sustainable solution to the issue of the distribution of assets between the state and other levels of government is the first goal of the 5+2 Program and an obligation of the BiH authorities, the resolution of which has been long awaited, announced the OHR.
