The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) filed an indictment against Vojin Pavlovic, born in 1976 in Bratunac, a citizen of BiH, and a second criminal proceeding is being conducted against him before the Court of BiH.
He is charged with, from June to July 12th, 2023, in the areas of Srebrenica and Bratunac, during the commemoration held on July 11th of that year and the burial of genocide victims in the municipality of Srebrenica, consciously and willingly approving the commission of the crime of genocide as the president of the board of the “Eastern Alternative” Association of Republika Srpska (RS). He did so by displaying posters publicly endorsing and attempting to justify the crime established by the final judgments of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the Court of BiH.
The indictment states that the accused approved and attempted to justify the crime of genocide by organizing a public gathering, making posters available to the public for the event, and then delivering a speech at the gathering publicly endorsing and attempting to justify the crime of genocide established by the final judgments of the ICTY and the Court of BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of inciting national, racial, and religious hatred, discord, and intolerance under Article 145a, paragraph 3, and paragraph 4, in conjunction with paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation, which has confirmed it, as announced by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
