Microsoft Innovative Center

On behalf of the Government of Republic Srpska, Minister of the Science and Technology, Jasmin Komic and the director of the company Microsoft for BiH, Omar Krivosija, signed yesterday a memorandum for the understanding and establishment of the Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC), which will be opened within the “Innovative Center Banja Luka“ as was stated by the Ministry.

“The purpose of the Microsoft Innovation Center is reflected primarily in the increased usage of information and communication technologies and establishing the cooperation with the academic community for the development and greater use of IT technologies, encouraging the development and forming of innovation companies based on IT technologies“, said Komic reiterating that there are 100 innovation centers in 38 countries of the world and that this is the first Microsoft Innovation Center in BiH.

All innovation centers are aimed for creating new jobs, new workplaces and companies and innovative solutions, and the target group is youth. Komic emphasized that the Government of Republic Srpska initiated this project in order to help youth to acquire, as soon as possible, needed skills for their involvement in the labor market.

The director of  Microsoft for BiH, Omar Krivosija, expressed his satisfaction that the framework for the opening of the first Microsoft Innovation Center in Banja Luka, i.e. in RS and BiH, has been created, that could bring additional benefits to youth and start-up companies as well as to prevent the younger generation from leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina.
