The first soldiers of the German military contingent in the “Altea” operation arrived today, EUFOR said.
“With this, the number of countries participating in the EUFOR mission has been increased to 20. Our first colleagues from the German army arrived today, and the rest will be distributed in stages,” it was specified to Srna news agency from EUFOR.
The number of personnel to be deployed is a maximum of 50 and they are expected to participate in the work of the EUFOR Main Command and the network of Liaison and Observation Teams /LOT Teams/.
On July 8, the Bundestag approved the deployment of German soldiers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The German army participated in the EU mission in BiH from 2004 to 2012.
