Last week, the implementation of the smart city initiative began in Canton Sarajevo (CS), with the reconstruction of public lighting in Vogosca.

As announced by the cantonal government, the beginning of the public lighting reconstruction was attended by the cantonal Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection Enver Hadziahmetovic (People and Justice – Narod i Pravda – NiP).

According to him, the reconstruction of public lighting will be the basis for the implementation of the smart city project.

“In addition to lighting, modules will also be installed that include the installation of cameras, measuring instruments, sensors, WiFi devices and more. The project in this phase will include the reconstruction of existing and the installation of additional LED lighting fixtures on the trolleybus routes (Dobrinja – Trg Austrije and Sutjeska – Vogosca) and tram traffic (Ilidza – Stari Grad – Ilidza). A total of 1,718 lighting fixtures will be installed on these three routes,” Minister Hadziahmetovicexplained.

He noted that this is one of the ways to improve the lives of citizens, as announced by the CS Government.
