The 24th International Tourism and Ecology Fair “LIST” opened today in Lukavac, an event that has been occupying an important place among international fairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region for years.
During the three days of the fair, Lukavac will be a meeting place for tourism workers, businessmen, representatives of institutions, exhibitors and visitors, but also a space for the exchange of ideas, business networking, promotion of local potential and affirmation of sustainable development. The “LIST” fair this year also connects tourism, ecology, gastronomy, entrepreneurship and modern development trends, which further confirms Lukavac’s position as an important fair and tourist center of the Tuzla Canton.
The opening ceremony was also attended by a delegation of the Tuzla Canton Government led by Prime Minister Irfan Halilagić, who emphasized that “LIST” has long gone beyond the framework of a classic fair event.
“Over the years, the LIST fair has become much more than a place where we present what we have. It is a space for meetings, exchange of experiences, business connections and promotion of a wider development vision in which tourism, ecology and economy must work together. The Tuzla Canton has natural beauty, cultural and historical heritage, tradition, gastronomy, lakes, mountains and valuable hosts, but these potentials must be systematically arranged, better presented and turned into a concrete tourist product. That is why it is important that such manifestations are not only an opportunity for promotion, but also for agreement on new projects, partnerships and initiatives that will contribute to the development of sustainable and recognizable tourism in the Tuzla Canton,” said Halilagić.
During the first day of the Fair, visitors can expect the “Bosnian Sofra” Food and Beverage Festival, “Women’s Creativity Days”, as well as professional programs dedicated to sustainable development, circular economy, waste management and tourism potential of the Tuzla Canton. In the evening, a concert by Mirko Šenkovski with Djeroni is scheduled in the large hall of the Lukavac Culture Center.
On the second day of the Fair, the focus will be on young people, through the competition of secondary catering schools “Fair Pancake Festival”, with the participation of schools from Doboj, Gračanica, Tuzla and Lukavac. The program also includes presentations of tourism projects and digital solutions, including “Visit TK” and “Visit Lukavac”, as well as the central panel discussion “Lukavac in Focus: What Makes It Worth a Visit?”. B2B business meetings, intended to connect entrepreneurs, companies and potential partners, will also be of particular importance.
On the final day of the Fair, on Saturday, the traditional Fair Pancake Festival will be held, with the participation of 23 teams from the media, companies, sponsors and citizens’ associations, as well as the awarding of awards to the most successful participants.
This year’s Fair also attracts great interest from participants and visitors. More than 1,000 participants are participating in the Food and Drink Festival, and the quality of the competition will be assessed by an expert jury from the field of gastronomy, including representatives of the BiH Chefs Association and the Pancake Lovers Club.
The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Transport of the Tuzla Canton, Almir Žilić, pointed out that the Government of the Tuzla Canton this year provides the greatest support to the Fair so far.
“The Tuzla Canton has exceptional tourist potential, and fairs like LIST are key to their promotion and development. Lukavac stands out more and more as an important center for fairs and tourist events, and this event confirms its importance for the wider community and the region,” said Žilić.
The doors of the fair today and tomorrow will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., while on Saturday the fair will be open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Government of TK announced.
