The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that two hostages held by Hamas were killed. They said the IDF most likely killed them by mistake.

On March 10th, Hamas announced that two hostages had been killed. They are Alexander Dancy and Yagev Buchshtab.

They were abducted during a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7th last year.

The IDF has not disclosed the exact circumstances of the hostage deaths or that it is absolutely certain that the IDF caused them, but it concluded that based on new intelligence, including the fact that the Israeli military was operating in certain areas of Khan Yunis at the time.

In this regard, it is likely that Israeli forces killed them by mistake.
