The exercise “Trenutni odgovor 26” (Eng. Immediate Response 26), which concluded on Friday, October 23, at the Main Training Ground of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) in Manjača, was successfully carried out. A total of 1,200 AFBiH members and international evaluation teams participated.

Based on the number of participants, set goals, and task complexity, this is the largest and most complex exercise of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina this year.

During the exercise, the declared units of the AFBiH carried out planned operations in realistic conditions, verifying their level of training, competence, and readiness to complete the tasks in an international operational environment.

Special focus was placed on the application of tactics, techniques and procedures, as well as on demonstrating interoperability and compatibility with partner countries and NATO members.

NATO Evaluators Record Exceptionally High Results

According to the initial report by the NATO evaluation team from the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples), the declared units of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina received very high ratings in all seven evaluation areas, in accordance with NATO’s Operational Capabilities Concept.

The competent NATO teams will confirm the final evaluation results.

In addition to members of the declared units of the AFBiH, the members of the Exercise Directorate, NATO’s Evaluation Structure, and certified evaluators from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina also joined the exercise.

Exercise Concluded without Security Incidents

The exercise director, Brigadier General Dr. Jasmin Čajić, congratulated all participants on the successful execution of tasks following the completion of activities.

He especially emphasized the professionalism of the members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the contribution of evaluation and monitoring teams, members of the exercise Directorate, and personnel from logistical and other support services.

He emphasized that the exercise was carried out without security incidents, with full respect for prescribed procedures and successful completion of assigned tasks.

A successful realization of the “Trenutni odgovor 26” exercise is an important step in verifying and improving the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the context of cooperation with NATO and partner countries.

During the exercise, members of the AFBiH demonstrated their readiness to complete assigned tasks. The final results of the NATO evaluation will provide a full picture of the achieved level of operational capabilities of the units.
