The main hearing announced today in the trial being conducted before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has been postponed.

Dodik and the acting director of the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska, Miloš Lukić, are on trial on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of “Failure to execute the decisions of the High Representative”.

On October 16, at the hearing in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik and Lukić said that they did not understand the indictment, after which it was stated that the accused pleaded not guilty.

The hearing in this case was postponed on December 6 before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the defense lawyer’s request to have this case transferred to Banja Luka was rejected. After the request was rejected, the defense team of the President of the RS filed an appeal, which was rejected by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Milorad Dodik and Miloš Lukić are accused that from July 1 to 9 of this year in Banja Luka, knowingly and knowing that High Representative Kristijan Šmit made a decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on the Non-Enforcement of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they undertook official actions in order to continue the legislative procedure.

In the indictment against Dodik and Lukić, it is stated that Dodik signed the decrees, “even though he was aware that the decisions of the high representative in BiH were binding”.

Before the start of the trial, a large number of Dodik’s supporters, as well as SNSD officials, gathered in front of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
