Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic (SDP) met with French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday.

The meeting took place at the Elysee Palace in Paris. As it was announced, they discussed the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). On that occasion, she mentioned the importance of support in the integration of BiH into the European Union (EU) and the preservation of territorial integrity.

“We need an understanding of Europe, but Europe also needs us. Only in this way can we resist the internal and external challenges that the 21st century brings,” Karic stressed.

She thanked Macron and other officials from, as she stated, friendly France, for their support and invitation to participate in the 4th Paris Peace Forum.

The city of Sarajevo is among the participants in this forum, which the city government of Sarajevo presented as “a family of big cities, states, and respected leaders”.
