The Zenica miners, due to the delay in their January salary and hot meal allowance for the same month, did not go down to the “Raspotočje” pit this morning, where they stopped production on March 6 – confirmed the president of the “Raspotočje” Plant Union, Nedžad Duraković.
He believes that it is already a matter of completely ignoring their problems.
”Obviously, everyone decided to ignore the fact that we didn’t get paid and that’s why we don’t work. We have no other explanation, because we do not have any information from the ruling society. Our management does not have the capacity to solve our problem, and Elektroprivreda BiH, as in all other mines from the Concern, is the owner of the entire capital,” says Duraković.
He points out that until the suspension of work and entering into labor disobedience – last Wednesday in the first shift, they showed good will and worked even after the deadline for the payment of wages.
“According to the provisions of the collective agreement, no more than 30 days may pass between two paid salaries, and according to the provisions of the Labor Agreement that the workers have, the final date for salary payments is the 25th of the month, for the previous month. In the past, in our mine, wages were paid until the 15th of the month,” he told Fena news agency.
The Zenica miners, of whom there are a little more than 600 left, were paid their last salary and allowance for a hot meal for the month of December last year, and it was paid to them on January 24.
