The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not approve the engagement of Helicopters from Serbia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina does not approve the engagement of helicopters, said Minister Elmedin Konaković regarding the request from the RS for the assistance of the Serbian Ministry of Interior helicopter in extinguishing fires in Herzegovina.

“We received a request from the RS, it seems to me that it is Civil Protection and as in all other cases, our on-call services receive this type of request and forward it to the competent institutions for action. We have sent a letter to the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Defense of BiH.” , Konaković told Avaz, and explained that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no authority to approve or prohibit, or to undertake any further activity, except to communicate between these institutions.

Konaković also asked why the RS, while the fires are raging and can endanger people’s property, decided to take a longer route and asked neighboring Serbia for help instead of the BiH Armed Forces.

“The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina provide this kind of support in situations like this, and unlike the representatives of the authorities in the RS, I would never stop any action that saves human lives or prevents damage,” said Konaković.

It was concluded that the Relations between BiH and Croatia are at their lowest Point
