One of the world’s most popular athletes, Croatian footballer Ana Maria Markovic, has revealed that she has been in a relationship with Portuguese footballer Tomas Ribeiro for a year now.
Markovic (24) has long been a member of the Croatia women’s national football team, and the native of Split is currently playing for Swiss club Grasshoppers. She gained fame on social media, where she is considered one of the most beautiful footballers in the world.
She had kept her love life secret for a long time, but then in December, she revealed that she was in a relationship with Portuguese footballer Tomas Ribeiro. Now, she has gone a step further and disclosed that she has been with the Portuguese for a year already.
“1 Year with you,” Ana Maria wrote in a photo with Guimaraes defender, who has been performing excellently this season in the Portuguese league.
This season, Ribeiro (24) has played 22 matches in the Liga Portugal, scoring one goal with two assists, despite being a center-back. He joined Guimaraes last summer from Grasshoppers, and his value has risen to two million euros.
The couple met when Ribeiro was also a member of Grasshoppers. It was precisely from this club that he moved to his current destination.
“We met during his time in Zurich. I realized when I got injured that I needed him by my side. He supports me and has been the person who has been with me the most,” revealed the Croatian footballer earlier.
