Lovers of the natural beauties of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) are familiar with the fact that our country has more waterfalls than Italy, France, and Germany combined, but did you know that we also have the most expensive waterfall in the world.

Namely, if you want to get to the Skakavac waterfall, which is located in the “Sutjeska” National Park, you need to set aside 1.000 BAM for a ticket.

”Perucica is a unique rainforest in Europe, and Skakavac is the decoration and pearl of Europe’s offer, a waterfall that is more than 78 meters high and is located in the center of the rainforest. In order to preserve it, we have set an entrance fee of 1.000 BAM per person,” said the director of the park, Aleksandar Kovac, last year.

He also explained that they have reduced the number of groups that can visit Perucica to ten with prior notice and the obligatory accompaniment of their guide. The park points out that they are trying to preserve the rainforest with a policy that is not economically viable.

The biggest problem was created by domestic tourists who entered the heart of the rainforest, left garbage, engraved initials on the bark of trees, were loud, they even lit a fire, so at a cost of a 1.000 BAM, they are trying to protect the heart of the rainforest which is a very sensitive ecosystem.

There is still a trail through Perucica that is not charged, that is anyone can come with a ticket to the National Park, but to enter the heart of the rainforest you will have to pay 1.000 BAM, Klix.ba writes.
