Foundation Bosana held a ninth gala dinner dedicated to collecting funds for students in BiH last Saturday in Los Angeles. This time, they collected around 80,000 USD.

Tim Clancy, author and expert for development, eco-tourism and the environment, came as a special guest and speaker from Sarajevo. Two medical students who are receiving scholarships from Bosana for four years already – Stipan Bagaric from Mostar and Armin Saric from Tuzla, attended this event as well.

Foundation Bosana is awarding the “DoGooder Award” to a person who successfully promotes the foundation, actively promotes BiH in a positive way in its community and BH diaspora for four years already. This year, Dr. Esad Boskailo received a special award from the collection “Think Freedom” by our prominent artist Edina Seleskovic.

All collected funds will be directed for further scholarships for students.

Next year, Foundation Bosana will mark the 10th anniversary of its existence with the hope that they will manage to expand their activities not only further in the United States but in Europe as well. They invited all interested individuals and organizations to join them in their mission. Work of this organization is based on a voluntary basis with minimum operational costs.

All the costs of the organization of this events were covered by sponsors eMedia Patch, Authority Partners, Corigin and Hornburg of Santa Monica, as well as others who donated food, drinks, service, flight tickets etc. It was noted that more than 30 volunteers, 10 business and private sponsors, 12 sponsors, seven members of the expert committee, and four members of the board of directors took part in the organization of this great event.

So far, the Foundation Bosana provided financial support to 76 students from various faculties all over BiH through scholarships, of which 24 have already graduated. It is expected that 50 % of Bosana’s students will graduate successfully by the end of the year of 2018, and 62 % of graduate students already found their workplace.
