The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska ended today the 38th special session by adopting all items on the agenda, while the Notice of the Constitutional Court of the RS on some phenomena of interest for the realization of constitutionality and legality was received.

The MPs adopted the rebalancing of the RS budget for 2026 in the amount of 8.525 billion BAM, which is an increase of about 1.116 billion BAM. The increase in the budget also includes 800 million BAM of additional long-term debt that was approved at this session of the NSRS.

A decision was also adopted increasing the amount of guarantees that can be issued by the RS in 2026 from BAM 900 million to BAM 1.4 billion.

The National Assembly also adopted a set of laws shortening the internship period in the RS. By amending the Labor Law and other regulations governing the employment status of employees in the public sector, education, health and culture, the internship period for people with a secondary education was shortened from six to three months, and for people with a university education from one year to six months.

The proposer stated that the goal of these changes is the faster inclusion of young people in the labor market and easier acquisition of the conditions for independent work in the profession.

The Law on Amendments to the Law on Social Protection was also adopted, which introduced two new rights from the social protection system. It is a special supplement to the personal disability allowance for people with a physical impairment of 70 to 100 percent, and a special supplement for the care of a child with developmental disabilities, i.e. a person with a disability, intended for parents whose child has reached the age of 30.
