The NATO General from Naples met with the Chief of Joint Staff of BiH Armed Forces

On February 23rd, 2023, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), Colonel General Senad Masovic, hosted Colonel General Vasco Angelotti, the Chief of Staff of the NATO Joint Forces Command Naples.

During the meeting, General Masovic informed General Angelotti about the current situation, main activities and operations of the AFBiH in the country and abroad, as well as key activities in the previous period and plans for this year.

General Masovic particularly emphasized the engagement of members of the AFBiH in providing assistance to victims of earthquakes in the Republic of Turkey, and the continuity in carrying out their activities, in accordance with the legally defined mission and tasks approved by the competent institutions of BiH.

Also, during the meeting, they discussed the support and cooperation that the AFBiH have with the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo. The importance and significance of the presence of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo and international forces in BiH, which selflessly provide support to the AFBiH, was particularly emphasized, all with the aim of building and developing operational capabilities and capacities, as well as the transition process of the AFBiH on the way to full membership in NATO.

General Angelotti praised the engagement of members of the AFBiH, emphasizing their significant contribution to building peace and collective security in the world. He expressed his satisfaction with the results achieved so far by the AFBiH, which were demonstrated by their participation in missions, and the high-quality grades obtained during the execution of training tasks.

Also, General Angelotti said that on the international level, NATO highly values the AFBiH as an important element of the state of BiH. He emphasized the firm commitment of the Joint Command of NATO forces in Naples in providing assistance for the continuation of the activities of the AFBiH in the execution of the mission and tasks defined by law, as well as support for all activities of BiH on the way to membership in NATO.

In front of the NATO delegation, the meeting was attended by the commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha, the executive officer, Colonel Luciano Fantetti, the personal assistant of the commander of the NATO Joint Forces from Naples, Major Roberta Tollis, the personal assistant of the commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Senior Sergeant I. class Gregory Roberts, and in front of the AFBiH, Deputy Chief of the AFBiH for Operations Major General Ivica Jerkic, Deputy Chief of the AFBiH for Resources Major General Gojko Knezevic, Head of the Cabinet of the Chief of AFBiH Brigadier Dzevad Ascic and personal assistant of the AFBiH Colonel Nedim Biscevic.
