Italian carrier Aeroitalia will start seasonal summer flights from Forli in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy to Mostar, Belgrade, Dubrovnik, and Zadar.
This week, the airline will release tickets for the new lines. Operations from Forli to Mostar will begin on April 7th, to Belgrade on April 8th, and to Dubrovnik and Zadar on June 15th.
The routes will be maintained until the end of the summer season at the end of October, and the airline will station an ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft and a Boeing 737-700 with 148 seats in Forli.
Tickets can be purchased through the Aeroitalia website, as well as through tour operators GoTo Fly and GoToTravel.
None of the four cities in the former Yugoslavia are currently connected to Forli by direct airline. This is important for Mostar, which has now secured its first scheduled flights for this year.
The arrival of Aeroitalia will also result in connecting Belgrade with a record ten cities in Italy, five of which will start this summer season. Forli will become Dubrovnik’s fifth destination in Italy, three of which start this year, while Zadar will now be connected to four cities on the Italian market.
AeroItalia is the newest Italian private carrier that started operating only last year. The owner is a former consultant of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Francesco Gaetano Intrieri.
The company is financially supported by German Efromovich, who is the president of AeroItalia, and was previously the owner of the Colombian airline Avianca.
The Italian carrier currently operates a small fleet of four Boeing 737-800s and one ATR72-600. It will soon add another ATR72 and three more B737-800s to its fleet and plans to introduce three B737-8 MAX jets, Ex Yu Aviation news portal writes.
