In the northern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, roads are wet and slippery in places, while conditions in the southern parts are predominantly dry. In higher mountainous areas, fog and low-hanging clouds are reducing visibility, making driving conditions even more challenging.
BIHAMK urges drivers to exercise maximum caution, adjust their speed to current road conditions, and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.
Today, November 4, a new section of the A-1 motorway – stretching approximately 20 kilometers between Zenica North and Žepče – is scheduled to open to traffic.
Due to slope stabilization work, the Hercegovina Bridge (on the A-1 motorway, in the direction of Počitelj–Bijača) is closed to traffic; vehicles are instead traveling in both directions along the opposite side of the motorway. Additionally, due to work inside the Hercegovina Tunnel (in the direction of Bijača–Počitelj), the overtaking lane is closed, leaving only the driving lane open to traffic.
The Kakanj–Lašva section of the A-1 motorway is closed to all vehicles, with traffic diverted to the opposite side of the motorway, where it is moving in both directions. On the A-1 motorway section between Zenica South and Zenica North, traffic is moving slowly due to repairs to a retaining wall at the entrance to the Klopče Tunnel. On the Sarajevo West–Lepenica section of the motorway, traffic has been diverted into the overtaking lane due to ongoing construction work. Due to bridge expansion work, traffic arrangements have been modified on the Brčko–Bijeljina main road (at the entrance to Bijeljina). Vehicles with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tonnes are being diverted via a temporary bypass located in the immediate vicinity of the construction site, while vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes are being routed through the settlement of Velika Obarska.
On the Dobro Polje–Miljevina and Jablanica–Blidinje main roads, traffic remains restricted to vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tonnes.
On the M-1.8 main road section between Lončari and Pelagićevo, where a roundabout is under construction, freight vehicles are permitted to pass through the intersection, while passenger vehicles are being diverted along an alternative route.
Due to the construction of an additional lane for slow-moving vehicles on the Podromanija–Sumbulovac main road—specifically at the Romanija mountain pass (on the ascent from the direction of Podromanija)—traffic is moving slowly, with vehicles being allowed to pass in alternating directions.
Traffic is also restricted to a single lane due to ongoing roadworks on the following main roads: Stup–Jošanica, Izačić–Bihać–Ripač, Skokovi–Cazin–Srbljani, Široki Brijeg–Posušje, Grude–Privalj, Mostar–Čitluk–Hum Hill, Konjic–Jablanica (at Ribići), Čevljanovići–Nišići, and Tasovčići–Stolac.
