Next weekend, the Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porfirije will visit the Metropolitanate of Dabro-Bosnia on the occasion of 50 years of monastic and 30 years of episcopal service of Metropolitan Chrysostom.

On Saturday, October 16, the reception of the patriarch is scheduled in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Sarajevo, while on Sunday morning, Easter morning will be served with the Holy Hierarch’s Liturgy in the continuation.

On the same day at 3 pm, the patriarch is scheduled to visit East Sarajevo, where he will be welcomed by Mayor Ljubisa Cosic and the mayors of all six municipalities.

After the reception and meeting in the City Administration, a walk from the City Administration building to the Republic Square of Serbia and further along the city streets is planned. According to Cosic, the influence of Patriarch Porfirije is huge and any of his efforts for one area can certainly bring only good.

Cosic expressed hope that the citizens of East Sarajevo, but also the region, will welcome the patriarch and show him honor and respect, because he has shown by his actions so far that he deserves it, Klix.ba writes.
