The Minister of Transport and Communications of the RS Nedjo Trninic stated that, with the help of Russian partners, Srpska might head towards expanding the capacities in air traffic, and introducing a regular air line between Banja Luka and St. Petersburg.
After a meeting with the delegation of businessmen from St. Petersburg, Trninic said that Srpska has aerodynamic and storage capacities but they are quite limited, which is why it should be invested in this sector.
“We are ready to, with the participation of the Russian partners, expand both the aerodynamic and storage capacities, but also to improve cooperation in the air transportation itself, both in the transport of goods and in passenger transport”, Trninic pointed out at the press conference in Banja Luka.
According to Trninic, the department of traffic and transport should be offering a logistic support for the placement of goods from the Republic of Srpska on the Russian market.
The Head of the Department for the development of consumer market of the Committee for the development of entrepreneurship and consumer markets of St. Petersburg Jelena Kapustina Aleksandrovna said that St. Petersburg has an enormous potential, and that the first meetings with the representatives from Srpska show that there is room for expansion of cooperation.
“There are a lot of places in St. Petersburg where the potential of the RS can be presented. The only current issue is that the capacities of the airport should be expanded so that we have the fastest and the best possible communication”, Kapustina emphasized.
Kapustina reminded that a big business forum is being held in St. Petersburg in December, which is a good opportunity for the signing of actual agreements on cooperation.
“The success, above all, depends on the activities of the businessmen, so we invite them to actively participate at forums and conferences and represent their potentials, which will contribute to the development of our cooperation”, Kapustina said.
