The President of Brazil compared Israel’s Occupation of Gaza to Hitler’s Actions

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva described Israel’s occupation of Gaza as “genocide”, comparing it to the actions of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, local media reported.

“What is happening in the Gaza Strip is not a war, but a genocide,” said Lula da Silva, as reported by Brazil’s “Canal Gov.”

“The events in the Gaza Strip never happened at any time in history. In fact, they happened when Hitler decided to kill the Jews,” Silva said during a visit to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, where he participated in the 37th African Summit of the Union.

Israel criticized Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Tel Aviv announced it would summon the South American country’s ambassador on Monday.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz called Silva’s statements “shameful” and “serious”.

“No one will harm Israel’s right to defend itself. I ordered people from my office to summon the Brazilian ambassador for a reprimand call tomorrow,” he added yesterday on the X platform.
