President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) Dr. Bandar M.H. Hajjar, will take part in this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF) again, as confirmed by BBI Bank, the organizer of the leading business and investment conference in South East Europe that will be held for the ninth consecutive year in Sarajevo on April 26.

This will be his second visit to the capital of BiH as the leader of the largest financial institution of the Islamic world, whose capital exceeds 150 billion USD. The Islamic Development Bank is the majority shareholder of Bosna Bank International and it is a co-organizer of SBF from the very beginning. The SBF is an annual business platform whose main aim is the economic development of the region.

Dr. Hajjar will give an introductory speech at the opening ceremony of the 9th Sarajevo Business Forum on April 25, 2018, as the high official of the bank that is operating in 57 countries all around the world, together with Director of BBI Bank, Amer Bukvic. The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) supported member states with a total amount of 100 billion USD since its establishment, 43 years ago.

BiH is not a member of IDB, but the presence of this bank in the region of South East Europe is not something new. The IsDB group invested more than 650 million USD in the countries of Southeast Europe, including Albania, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Montenegro and BiH.

BiH, just like the others Southeast European countries, can use these tools to become an international corridor for business operations. Our region can attract much larger foreign investment with the aim to support its own development. From the IDB expressed their support to the efforts that BiH invested in order to create a friendly legislative framework and good environment for direct foreign investments.
