The Prices of Products and Services Recorded Increase in BiH

The prices of products and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, were 0.5 percent higher in August compared to July, while annual inflation was 1.3 percent, the Statistics Agency of BiH stated.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages in August were more expensive by 1.1 percent compared to July, clothing and footwear by 0.5 percent, housing and overhead costs by 1.4 percent, healthcare by 0.4 percent, recreation and culture by 0 .6 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.4 percent, and other goods and services by 0.5 percent.

Furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance in August were on average cheaper by 0.1 percent compared to July, transportation by 1.4 percent, and education by 0.4 percent.

The price level in August compared to the same month last year was higher by 1.3 percent.

In August of this year, compared to the same month last year, food and non-alcoholic beverages were on average more expensive by 1.4 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 4.5 percent, housing and overhead costs by 1.2 percent, and furniture, household appliances and regular house maintenance by 0.5 percent.

Healthcare was more expensive by 3.6 percent, communications by 1.2 percent, recreation and culture by 2.8 percent, education by 1.3 percent, restaurants and hotels by 7.1 percent, and other goods and services by 4. 6 percent.

The average price drop in August compared to the same month last year was recorded by clothing and footwear, by 7.6 percent, and transportation by 1.9 percent.
