The State of Qatar has been included in the visa waiver program for travel to the United States of America, making the Gulf country the first country in the region whose citizens have been granted access to the program.

– In this way, the United States of America allows citizens of Qatar to travel without visas for up to 90 days, starting from December 1 of this year. In return, citizens of the United States of America will enjoy the same privileges when traveling to Qatar – the Qatari news agency QNA reported.

Qatari Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani said that the inclusion of the State of Qatar in the US visa waiver program reflects the strategic level of Qatar’s relationship with the United States. He emphasized that this is the peak of bilateral ties between two friendly peoples in various areas.

According to Sheikh Al-Thani, according to international indicators, the State of Qatar is a leader in the field of security among countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and that it is strongly committed to global standards in the field of security.

The American Minister of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, said on that occasion that the visa waiver program is one of the most successful security initiatives in the country. He added that the participation of the State of Qatar in the program increases the exchange of information about one of the busiest passenger and transit hubs in the world, thereby increasing the security of the United States. The senior official commended official Doha for meeting the strict terms of the agreement, adding that he looked forward to continuing to work together for the benefit of both countries.

– By the way, the American visa waiver program is based on a comprehensive partnership between the United States and participating countries, the fulfillment of specific requirements and standards related to law enforcement, border control and the issuance of secure electronic travel documents, the QNA agency reported, the Embassy of the State announced Qatar in BiH.
