The prosecutor from the Department for Terrorism of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Mirza Kapić, born in 1980 in Banja Luka – living in Zenica, a citizen of BiH, who is in custody, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of terrorism.
The accused is accused of arranging and planning an attack on the “Bosna” mosque in Zenica in the middle of 2023, in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of seriously intimidating the population and destabilizing society, together with persons known to him using internet applications, via mobile phone.
According to the collected evidence, the attack was planned using an explosive device made of TNT and mercury explosives, with the aim of punishing scholars and members of the Islamic community in BiH, who publish fatwas against the so-called terrorist organization “ISIS”, as well as for the purpose of punishing members of IZBiH who report members of extremist organizations to law enforcement agencies in BiH.
The accused is charged with taking actions to commit the criminal offense of terrorism and threatening to commit the criminal offense of terrorism, thereby committing the criminal offense of “terrorism” from the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
