Yesterday’s session of the House of Representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Parliament, more precisely the vote on excise taxes, showed that there is no ruling majority, so the question is what kind of coalition was formed by the Eight (then), SNSD, and HDZ and what exactly is it based on.
Namely, yesterday the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament again considered changes to the law on excise taxes in BiH, which would lower fuel prices by up to 0.50 BAM. After the law was adopted by the House of Representatives, the House of Peoples of BiH is on the move again.
Of the 38 present, 31 voted ”for”, five were against, and two abstained. Of the 12 present, five parliamentarians from the Republika Srpska (RS) were ”for”, while five were against, and two abstained.
SNSD representatives voted “against”, namely Sanja Vulic, Obren Petrovic, Ljubica Miljanovic, Miroslav Vujicic, and Nebojsa Radmanovic.
Until yesterday, they were part of the majority of the meeting with representatives from the parties gathered around the Trojka (SDP, NiP, Our party… ) and HDZ.
Thanks to parliamentarians from the opposition PDP, SDS, SDA, and ”For Justice and Order – Nebojsa Vukanovic” – the law received both a general and entity majority and passed this house of the state parliament.
Given yesterday’s vote, it is to be expected that the amendments to the Law on Excise Taxes will pass immediately in the House of Peoples of BiH, as it is not to be expected that the SNSD members will change their position.
What is questionable is how this vote will affect the future actions of the ruling coalition at the state level (extended Trojka, SNSD, and HDZ) when they already ”failed” in the first test, i.e. when they should have shown whether they act unitedly in favor of the citizens of BiH, as they pompously announced when signing the agreement, or whether they will continue at their own discretion.
It should be noted that the ruling coalition has never presented the program of the BiH Council of Ministers, although they announced it at the end of last year, Klix.ba reports.
