The Sarajevo Canton Assembly appointed a new cantonal government headed by Prime Minister Nihad Uk. Twenty deputies voted for the new government, ten deputies were against and one abstained.

The reconstruction of the cantonal government followed the formation of a new parliamentary majority, which no longer includes the Party for BiH and now consists of the SDP, NiP, NS, Za nove generacije (ZNG) and independent representatives Redžo Lemezan, Admela Hodžić and Elza Gaković.

The government consists of ministers: Darja Softić Kadenić, Ministry of Justice and Administration; Enis Hasanović, Ministry of Health; Bojan Bošnjak, Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection; Adnan Šteta, Ministry of Transport; Enda Pavić Pečenković, Ministry of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees; Admir Katica, Ministry of Internal Affairs; Zlatko Mijatović, Ministry of Economy; Naida Hota-Muminović, Ministry of Education; Adna Mesihović, Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth; Kenan Magoda, Ministry of Culture and Sports; Afan Kalamujić, Ministry of Finance and Omer Osmanović, Ministry of Veteran Affairs.

Nihad Uk, who is at the head of the Government, presented the priorities of the work earlier today, emphasizing that the focus of action is on young people.

In that segment, as he stated, serious results have been achieved to date – 5.5 million BAM have been allocated for housing care for young people, free textbooks, free tickets for the transport of pupils and students have been made available, the foundation stone has been laid and the construction of the building of the university library has begun, which is a symbol of Sarajevo’s desire to show its regional and European ambition in education.

“The goal of the activity is to improve the quality of life and stay of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” emphasized Uk.

He points out that young people will also benefit from the majority of other solutions in the segment of economic, social and communal policy, which were implemented in the previous period.

During the session, the opposition presented a series of criticisms of the way the CS Government was elected, stating that it was illegal.
