The Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the Sixth Digital Summit of the Western Balkans, the largest regional digital event on cooperation in the field of digital transformation, which is organized with the support of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The two-day summit will be opened today in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
The participants and guests of the Digital Summit of the Western Balkans (WB6) will be welcomed by the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, and it will be opened by the General Secretary of the RCC, Majlinda Bregu, together with the Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Edin Forto, the German State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Digitalization and transport Stefan Schnorr, European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, Resident Representative of UNDP in BiH Stelian Neder, Director General of DG CONNECT Robert Viola and Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Doreen Bogdan-Martin.
On the first day of the Summit, Forto will participate in a high-level panel with regional ministers entitled “Transformative role of digitalization – shared vision and ambition of the Western Balkan region”.
On the second day, panel discussions and conference sessions will be held, which will provide a deeper insight into the latest trends and challenges of the digital world.
Parallel to the main events during the Summit, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s companies from the information and communication technology sector, including the three largest BiH telecom operators, will have the opportunity to present their innovative business solutions to new partners and representatives of the business community from the region and beyond.
More than 400 participants were registered at this year’s Digital Summit, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
