Throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, the consequences of damage caused by the storm are still being repaired. The most difficult was in Doboj and Gračanica, where a city the size of a tennis ball caused major problems. A part of Semberija was affected by hail, and the anti-hail preventive measure over the weekend broke the record for the number of rockets fired. Despite this, fruits and vegetables suffered damages.

Damaged fruits, broken vegetable stalks, water in the fields are the epilogue of the storm that hit Semberija at the weekend. The worst was in the village of Velika Obarska, where hail the size of a walnut fell.

The farmers did not want to be in front of the cameras. They say they have nothing to say as they collect damaged watermelon and tomato fruits damaged by the hail.

“Every year when people need to harvest the fruits of their labor, storms come and always and last year when there were tomatoes, here I was with several people who work vegetables and tomatoes, and up to 50% of this summer was destroyed,” says the president of the local council community of Velika Obarska Predrag Spasojević.

The Civil Protection of the city of Bijeljina also announced.

“Hail the size of a walnut fell in one part of Velika Obarska and caused damage to agricultural crops. For now, there is no information about the damage to the buildings,” they announced.

From the Anti-hail prevention of the RS, they point out that during the weekend, the record for the number of rockets fired since the anti-hail protection has been in place was broken.

“A rocket in one afternoon and the ice appeared again, Zvornik, Lukavac, Čelić, Doboj, Banjaluka, Modriča and it caught a little of Bijeljina, Obarska, Batković and Brodac. I still haven’t remembered this, I’m 74 years old, I’ve been working on prevention for 20 years” , points out Jovica Ilić, marksman of the Republika Srpska anti-hail defense.

Hail protection shooters say that there will be action throughout this week, and that storms and instability are expected throughout the week, BHRT writes.
