Training at Sarajevo Airport: 45 Passengers saved from Crashed Plane (Gallery)

[wzslider autoplay=”true”] At the fire polygon of the International Airport Sarajevo yesterday was held exercise called “Plane crash on the International Airport Sarajevo”.

This was a simulation of accident of airplane – 737 with 45 passengers and crew members, who crashed on the territory of the Sarajevo International Airport, more precisely on the site of the fire polygon of Sarajevo airport.

Actions that are undertaken in accordance with the Plan of measures and procedures in emergency situations include involvement of employees of the International Airport Sarajevo, the Institute for Emergency Medical Services of Canton Sarajevo, the Professional Fire Brigade – Unit Airport and Unit Stup, the Police Forces of Canton Sarajevo, Border Police of BiH – Unit JGP Airport Sarajevo and the Armed Forces of BiH, particularly the Helicopter Unit, as announced from the Sarajevo Airport.

The International Airport Sarajevo is obliged to carry out this kind of exercises every two years. Simulation of the accident and the entire exercise is aimed at checking the capacity of staff and the current Emergency Plan.

Staff monitored exercise and rated it as successful. They praised the readiness, coordination and cooperation of all participants, which showed high level of performance once again.
