Digital Signal Test Broadcasting nap.baThe Minister of Communications and Transport of B&H Slavko Matanovic stated yesterday in Sarajevo that the test broadcasting of the digital signal at the territory of Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar should start in around two months.

Informing the Committee for transport and communications of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H on the implementation of the process of digitalization, Matanovic said that 80 percent of the territory of B&H should be covered with digital signal in the first year after the beginning of broadcasting of the signal, and that it would take up to three years to cover the entire territory.

Matanovic explained that as of June 17th 2015 the citizens who are using analogue signal, and such are between 40 and 50 percent, have problems with the reception of signal, and that the test broadcasting will additionally complicate the situation, but that the problem can be solved by the Communications Regulation Commission by assigning other frequencies to the emitters.

Matanovic said that the Ministry of Communications and Transport of B&H will appoint the Committee for the procurement of equipment for the second phase of digitalization and for announcement of the international tender for the second phase of digitalization, that it will consider the possibility of switching from the standard DVB-T on the standard DVB-T2, and define the modalities, sources, and amount of funds for subsidization of the population for the purchase of the devices for the reception of digital signal – ST box.

The Committee for transport and communications of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of B&H sent an urgent letter from yesterday’s session to the Council of Ministers of B&H for the submission of Information on fulfillment of obligations of B&H towards the Energy Community.
