In the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a status conference and the start of the trial of three defendants for crimes committed in the Prijedor camps are scheduled for today.
Slavko Puhalić, Dragan Škrbić and Rajko Damjanović are accused of having committed crimes in the camps “Trnopolje” and “Keraterm” during a wide and systematic attack directed at the civilian population of Bosniak and Croat nationality in the area of Prijedor and its surroundings, and they should be tried start on Tuesday, September 5.
On the same day, the defense of Milan Trišić, who is on trial for crimes committed in the Bratunac area, is scheduled to present his closing arguments.
The indictment accuses Trišić that, as a member of the Territorial Defense, he participated in the persecution of Bosniak civilians – imprisonment, forced disappearance, torture and murders in Bratunac.
Puhalić is charged with the indictment as an investigator and deputy warden of the “Trnopolje” camp and a superior person on all guard shifts, and the others in the status of guards in the camps – that they participated in the execution of a joint criminal enterprise, carried out persecution on a discriminatory basis, on the basis of national, political and religious affiliation. Puhalić, Škrbić and Damjanović previously denied guilt for the crimes committed in the Prijedor camps.
At the trial of Ranko Balaban, Rajko Karlica, Milenko Brčin, Mirko Odžić, Milenko Babić, Ratko Goronja, Nikola Reljić, Dragan and Ranko Baltić and Miroslav Kapetanović, who are accused of having participated in the murders in June 1992 in the area of Bosanski Novi (Novi City), it is planned that the Defense will continue with its closing arguments.
The defense will continue with its closing statement at the trial for participation in the murders of at least 150 Bosniak civilians committed in July 1992 in Zecovi near Prijedor, for which Dušan Milunić, Radovan Četić, Zoran Stojnić, Željko Grbić, Ilija Zorić, Zoran Milunić are accused. , Boško Grujičić, Ljubiša Četić, Rade and Uroš Grujčić and Rajko Gnjatović.
