The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, received a promise from the President of the UN General Assembly, Abdul Shahid, that the UN and its agencies will continue to be on the side of BiH and support it in all areas.

Tegeltija acquainted Shahid with the relations within BiH and the efforts to improve political life, but also about the problems from the way he can present himself at the UN to the election process.

“I tried to point out that BiH believes that it is not sufficiently represented with experts working in the UN, because we believe that BiH has enough educated staff who could work in UN agencies in New York or anywhere in the world,” Tegeltija said Srna news agency after yesterday’s meeting with Shahid in New York.

He stated that the talks were the focus of the plenum that is being held in connection with migration, they were talking about the Declaration of Progress, which they hope will contribute to a better and more orderly migration system in the world.

Tegeltija stated that he reminded of the fears and difficulties that BiH faces when it comes to migration.

During the meeting, they also discussed the relations between the UN and its agencies and BiH, since the UN has one of the largest missions in BiH and is engaged in various forms.

“We must state that there is a significant form of cooperation with all these agencies, from the so-called` Agenda 2030`, to attempts to jointly develop strategies for socio-economic development of BiH. We have great support from many UN agencies in BiH and we will insist on that. ” said Tegeltija.
