The United States imposed Sanctions on BiH Prosecutor and Member of Parliament

On the website of the American Office for the Control of Foreign Property (OFAC), SDA member and delegate in the House of Peoples of BiH Asim Sarajlic and Gordana Tadic, former Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, were found today.

We remind you that the same sanctions were recently imposed on Milorad Dodik, Milan and Tijana Tegeltija, and on the Alternative Television from Banja Luka.

What exactly the sanctions will mean in this case will be known later, but it is assumed that the individual sanctions against Sarajlic and Tadic refer to the ban on travel to the USA and the blockade of possible property and accounts in that country, Klix.ba writes.

Sarajlic is the second politician from the territory of the Federation of BiH to whom sanctions have been imposed. Earlier, sanctions were imposed on Mirsad Kukic.

Sarajlic is a state delegate in the House of Peoples, and he is connected with corruption and abuse of office, among other things, due to the “Asim” affair, which refers to the controversial video during the purchase of a delegate for the election of the SDA Sarajevo Cantonal Board president. In that case, Sarajlic promised employment to the delegate’s wife in exchange for his vote.

The Americans put Sarajlic on the black list also because he abused his position in relation to the public company BH Telecom, where he put pressure on the employment process, and according to the explanations, he personally accepted money in exchange for a job.

In that process, Sarajlic allegedly recommended persons who are much less qualified for employment, which violated the company’s integrity.

Gordana Tadić is currently the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and until recently the Chief State Prosecutor.
Her tenure has been marked by numerous scandals. She was fired because she did not assign cases to prosecutors according to the automated system in the CMS. Through her work, she also promoted personal interests, which was the reason why she ended up on the American black list.

These sanctions block Sarajlic and Tadic’s property if they have it in the United States, and they are also banned from doing business in that country. All U.S. citizens are also barred from doing business with people on the U.S. Treasury Department’s blacklist.
