The United States (U.S.) representative in the United Nations (UN) Security Council welcomes the unanimously adopted Resolution on the extension of EUFOR’s mandate “which demonstrates our commitment to peace, the rule of law and stability.”
“The International Community must face this challenge. We must work together to destabilize the efforts of the Republika Srpska (RS), the National Assembly of the RS (NARS), and President Dodik, who want to weaken basic freedoms, the rule of law and the constitutional foundations of the country and its institutions. The goal of the High Representative is to support Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), its sovereignty, territorial integrity, but also multi-ethnic characters, we are especially focused on the rule of law, which will bring prosperity to all citizens. Christian Schmidt has the full support of the U.S. and the entire International Community in his work. We thank him for the last Report. In light of the latest attacks on the High Representative, led by the RS, Milorad Dodik, we must underline that the UN Security Council has no role in selecting or appointing the High Representative, which is the responsibility of the Peacekeeping Council. We remain committed to a stable and united country. We fully support full integration into the transatlantic community, but also the European Union (EU) path,” said the U.S. representative in the UN Security Council.
The agenda included a discussion on BiH, N1 reports.
