The Acting Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of B&H General major Anto Jeleč received today in Sarajevo the Chief of the Armed Forces Staff of the Republic of Greece General Mihael Kostarakos.
B&H and Greece, the Ministries of Defense and armed forces occupy a prominent place in bilateral cooperation with partner countries, as one of the most successful and intensive relations that B&H has with friendly countries in the region and the world. This relation is based on the agreement between B&H Council of Ministers and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Greece on cooperation in the field of defense, signed on 22 January 2008.
This cooperation is realized through several areas in particular, the exchange of visits at the highest levels, the implementation of activities of bilateral military cooperation of the annual plans and the support of B&H Armed Forces to peace support operations abroad, as well as UN peacekeeping missions and the training of the Armed Forces of B&H in Greece.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Greece General Mihael Kostarakos stated that the goal of this visit is to show the willingness of Greek representatives in strengthening military cooperation with B&H. He emphasized the high level of the relationship between B&H and Greece, and highlighted that Greece is a reliable partner strongly supporting the process of B&H accession to the EU and NATO.
