goldenretrieverA free sterilization of home and street dogs started under the organization of the Charitable Foundation for Dogs “Dogs Trust”. This action will be conducted until end of November at nine veterinary clinics in Canton Sarajevo and East Sarajevo.

The Director of international projects “Dogs Trust” Gareth Thomas attended the sterilization of dogs at the Veterinary Station “Vetlife ” on Stup, where the sterilization of three home dogs was planned for today. He stressed the importance of dog sterilization for the general good and for the health of dogs He underlined that dog sterilization prevents an increase of unwanted dogs on the streets.

According to him, only 17 percent of dog owners in Sarajevo have sterilized their dogs, and noted that, in the UK for example, the number is much higher.

“All my friends have dogs which are sterilized. That is why there are no stray dogs on the streets and no abandoned animals. Therefore, dog sterilization is important”, said Thomas.
