Waiter Dusan Djordjevic delighted the region after travel blogger Kristijan Ilicic published a video of him at work in the Nais hotel in Nis. Dusan is 23 years old, and he states that smile is his motto”. He spoke about his life.
“I have been working as a waiter for 4 years, I have been working at Hotel Nais for 2 months. I grew up in modest circumstances. After the death of my mother, I stayed with my grandmother, to whom I am immensely grateful for everything. I started working as a waiter in order to help my grandmother, to make it easier for her,” Dusan said.
“I worked in smaller restaurants, and after that, I had the opportunity to advance in my business. I accepted the invitation from Hotel Nais and was happy to respond. Although all this is something new for me, my colleagues try to guide me so that I can progress even more”, he explained.
“Smile is my motto”
When asked where such a positive attitude towards work comes from, he said: “I always look on the bright side, including the work I do. A smile is my motto. I learned that everything in life is the way you see it, if you complain and are constantly dissatisfied, that’s how your whole life is. Of course, there is room to improve conditions in the hospitality industry, but is everything so dark? Of course not.”
In the hospitality industry, he enjoys communicating with people and making new friends. The thing he hates the most, he admits, is polishing the serve.
“The hotel rewarded me”
He recognized travel blogger Kristijan Ilicic at the wedding table.
“That’s why I love my job, as I mentioned, this is how I get the opportunity to meet people whose work I follow and respect. The team respected me, I thank Kristijan for everything”, he told.
He also received an award from the hotel where he works.
“Of course they also rewarded me, they saw the potential in me, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management of Hotel Nais for the trust they have shown,” he says.
He also has a message for all fellow waiters: “I want to tell all colleagues that a smile is necessary in our job, they know everything else.”
To recall, Croatian travel blogger Kristijan Ilicic was delighted by the cheerful waiter who served him in Nis.
“This waiter from Nis should get a raise! Hotel Nais, please react,” Ilicic wrote along with a video of a waiter singing and dancing while serving Kristijan and his company at the table. “He’s a great boy,” added Ilicic in the comments, N1 writes.
