filmSlovenian film ‘Adria Blues’ starring Senad Bašić, better known as Faruk from the tv sitcom ‘Lud,Zbunjen,Normalan ‘will be launched at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which takes place from June 28 to July 6, 2013. East of the West is a prestigious competition featuring films from Central and Eastern Europe and belongs to the most closely watched sections, especially by foreign Film Industry and media.

The Karlovy Vary IFF is one of the oldest film festivals in the world. Ranked by FIAPF among a handful of A festivals, it is considered the most important film event in Central and Eastern Europe.

Main actors Senad Bašić and Mojca Funkl are expected to attend, along with producer Frenk Celarc and writer/director Miroslav Mandić.

The film talks about Toni Riff, a Bosnian rock star back in the 1980’s, who came to Slovenia during the war and married his fan Sonia. He has been inactive for  the past two decades, relying on his wife to support them. To Toni’s annoyance and fits of jealousy, Sonia works as a phone-sex operator. One of her regular clients is a hotel owner Max, an avid fan of the 80’s  New Wave. He offers to organize a come-back concert for the former  star. Upon arrival to the hotel, shocked by the concert announcement,  Toni hides in a room called after him. Sonia begs him to play, believing
a concert is the only way out of his depression.r/director Miroslav Mandić.
