The Exhibition ‘Umjetnost u Mračnim Vremenima’: Cartoons on Wars of 90s

KarikatureThe exhibition ‘Umjetnost u mračnim vremenima’, where will be presented cartoons and illustrations from newspapers of the Former Yugoslav countries printed in the period from 1990 until 2001, will open on Wednesday at 18:30 at the B&H Art Gallery.

More than 100 art pieces of prominent cartoonists and illustrators from Serbia, B&H and Croatia will be exhibited in one place.

Cartoons from many newspapers and publication of B&H, Serbia and Croatia gathered in one place will provide a unique insight into the recent Yugoslav history. The exhibition covers three periods: the pre-war period (1990-1991), the period of wars in B&H and Croatia (1992-1995), as well as the conflict and epilogue in Serbia and Kosovo (1996-2001).

Mr. Erik Rudeng, President of the European Foundations Center – EFC and Mr. Nicolas Brosinger, Executive Director of the Foundation Pro Vicitimis, creator and organizer of exhibition will address the audience at the exhibition opening.

The exhibition will open for visitors from 15 to 24 May 2014, and the entrance will be free of charge. After Sarajevo, the exhibition will open in Zagreb and Belgrade.
