There are no Plans for the United States to Participate in the Negotiations

The US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovinawill not participate in the negotiations with the political leaders who have been given six weeks to try to agree on changes to the Election Law of BiH that would make the FBiH more functional and resolve the manner of filling the House of Peoples of the FBiH, the election of judges of the Constitutional Court of the FBiH, as well as making it impossible to block the formation of authorities such as this was the case in the 2018-2022 mandate.

“The United States remains committed to supporting the Office of the High Representative. Institutional functionality and distribution of power in the Federation of BiH are of key importance for the stability of BiH, and political leaders have a responsibility to initiate a dialogue to resolve these issues within the six-week deadline, as requested by the High Representative. At the moment, there are no plans for the United States to participate in the negotiations,” the US Embassy stated.
