A Bosnian muslim man wipes his eye withOn the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, young B&H actor, Rijad Gvozden, filmed a short movie for the song “Solace” written by writer and poet Veid Delalić, in cooperation with the production company Balkan Media Production.

“I cannot help myself but keep thinking about how many seven-year-old boys from Srebrenica never got chance to start their first grade and learn addition and subtraction, how many boys did not start high school, and a few years later, with a gentle mother’s kiss and softly ‘Good luck, son’ did not start their first day of work… How many fathers and sons never get the chance to talk about first love, to celebrate birthdays together or sing at the weddings… 8372 life stories remain untold, “said the actor Rijad Gvozden adding:

“The obligation of all of us is to remember all the boys, sons, fathers and grandfathers with endless love and respect forever… to teach the new generation about what happened on the 11th of July, 1995 and never to let something similar to happen again,” said Gvozden, who was dealing with the topic of the Srebrenica genocide and the search for missing persons through his work on several occasions. The work on the short film “Solace” was painful, emotional, but also a special experience for him, as well as the topic to which he will always return because, as he says, he feels as the obligation for all Bosnians and Herzegovinians.
