The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republika Srpska suspended the investigation against Milorad Dodik and Radovan Višković. A criminal complaint was filed against the two of them for allegedly not reporting criminal offenses to the Government of the RS.
The criminal complaint was filed by Dario Sandić, a lawyer from Banja Luka, because of statements from the beginning of this year – that there are employees in the government who never come to work, but receive a salary.
The application was filed, it was written in the application, because they had to report their findings to the prosecutor’s office. From the District Prosecutor’s Office of Banja Luka, to which the report was submitted, responsibility is transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office of the RS. The RS Prosecutor’s Office did not respond to questions regarding the decision to suspend the investigation against Višković and Dodik.
The key question is whether the judiciary in the RS, or BiH, is independent, says analyst Stefan Blagić. In this light, he believes, this decision of the prosecutor’s office should also be viewed: “Up to now, every criminal complaint filed against an official of the RS, primarily the SNSD, has failed.”
The opposition in the RS recalls some earlier cases when the prosecutor’s offices also did not react.
“I will remind you – when Dodik said he was eavesdropping on the opposition and when the public reacted, he said he was joking. Maybe this is their unsalted joke,” says Vukota Govedarica, SDS representative in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.
Milorad Dodik said a few days ago at the University Clinical Center of RS that valuable medical equipment in hospitals is used by individuals in private practice. No one reacted to that statement about Dodik’s findings that individuals are breaking the law by abusing their position and unauthorized use of medical equipment.
