The 13th International Oldtimer Meeting Sarajevo 2015 under the name ”A Smile for Sarajevo” was held yesterday in Sarajevo. The meeting has brought rare and beautiful cars, some older than 100 years, to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Yesterday, but also today, the citizens of Sarajevo have the chance to see rare classic cars, whose owners come from our country and from Europe.
The cars paraded through the streets of Sarajevo, and afterwards were exposed in front of the Sarajevo City Center. Among the most beautiful ones is certainly a red Mercedes 560 SL.
“The car was produced in 1986 for the US market. It is powered by a V8 engine of 5,600 cubic meters, which delivers 230 hp. Its current value in the market is between 30 and 40 thousand euros. I found it in Florida, and it came to Sarajevo via New York and Rijeka. I shipped it to the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina for painting and upholstering, and I did the dashboard in Kotor Varoš. I own this car for over a year. Its tank holds 90 liters of fuel. These are the cars that you have to give away a lot of attention and love to, because they have a soul”, said the owner of the Mercedes 560 SL, Italian Enrico.
Among the exhibited cars are Buick, Cadillac, Ford, several popular Volkswagen Beetles, as well as one old Centrotrans bus.
The best car will be declared at the end of the event. A test of driving skills will be organized for the ladies.
