Third Congress of Psychologists in Mostar

The city of Mostar will be the host of the third Congress of Psychologists in BiH with international participants, organized by the Association of the Psychologists in FBiH, the Association of Psychologists of RS and the Association of Psychologists of District of Brčko.

The Congress will be held from 14-16 March 2013 in the Technical Organization of Psychologists of Hercegovina, a branch of the Association of Psychologists FBiH.

The first Congress of psychologists was held in 2009 in Sarajevo, and the second in 2011 in Banja Luka. The scientific and technical nature of the Congress makes possible the exchange of professional experience, scientific knowledge ad the promotion of psychology as a profession. The Congress has until now aroused the interest of a large number of recognized experts from the field of psychology as well as related disciplines, and students of psychology from the country and the region.

Until now, 144 participants have signed up, and registration of participants lasts until the beginning of the Congress. The program consists of symposia, panel discussions, and presentations of scientific and technical papers.  A student section will be held. Overall, 97 research papers are registered, 2 symposia and 2 round tables.

As part of the program, four workshops will be help, whose hosts are experienced psychotherapists. Božena Galoić-Cigit will hold two workshops from the field of addiction, while Ana Milčić-Horvat will hold a workshop whose goal is to strenghten competition and to prevent burnout of psychologists in direct work with clients and the workshop on the theme of starting a private practice.

Lectures in the Congress will cover a wide range of theoretical and applied areas of psychology, such as organizational, clinical and social psychology.

Speakers that have been invited are eminent psychologists from Croatia and Serbia: prof.dr.sc. Lidija Arambašić, prof.dr.sc. Zoran Sušanj, doc.dr.sc. Slavka Galić and prof.dr.sc. Nebojša Petrović. At the Congress will be presented the most recent publications from authors in the field of psychology from the region.
