After the competent prosecutor’s offices made decisions that they would not conduct criminal proceedings against individual presidents and members of election committees engaged in the 2020 Local Elections, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, at its 35th session, made decisions within its jurisdiction, noting that this is not it was possible to do it earlier until the competent prosecutor’s offices report on the same.

In the constituency of Mostar, 13 polling boards were sanctioned, namely presidents with 800 BAM and members of polling boards with 600 BAM, with a ban on engagement in bodies for the implementation of elections for a period of 4 years from the day the decision came into force, due to incorrectly recorded results for candidates and political entities. The amounts of imposed fines are based on court practice.

Fines were imposed on the president and three members of the polling committee at polling station 007B040 in the electoral unit Novi Grad (500 BAM for the president and 300 BAM for the members) with a ban on engagement in bodies for the implementation of elections for a period of 4 years from the day the decision became final due to violations at the polling station because of which the elections at that polling station were repeated.

Due to preventing the work of election observers to the president and members of the polling committee at polling station 038B018B in Doboj, today the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed nightly fines (the president 800 BAM and the members 300 BAM) with a ban on engagement in bodies for the implementation of elections for a period of 4 years from the date of validity decisions.

Four members of the polling committee at polling station 074B014A in Teslić were fined in the amount of 600 BAM and banned from engaging in election implementation bodies for a period of 4 years from the date of the decision’s finality.

At the polling station 077A023 in Zavidovići, the president was fined in the amount of 500 BAM and banned from engaging in election implementation bodies for a period of 4 years from the day the decision became final due to incorrectly recorded election results.

The aforementioned decisions of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina are not legally binding because they can be appealed to the Appellate Department of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within two days from the date of receipt of the decision.
