After the collapse of two banks in Republika Srpska (RS), Bobar Bank and Bank of Srpska, thousands of guarantors are faced with ”forced payments,” warned the board member of the Association of Guarantors of BiH, Mikan Nikić.
”The guarantors think that the payment of loans is illegal in all cases where the banks and guarantors are in dispute,” says Nikić.
He also criticizes the Banking Agency of RS because their solutions helped them take the responsibilities of competent authorities.
”The Agency got the list of suspicious loans from the liquidation bank administrators. It issued a decision of injunction to banks to block current and gyro accounts of legal and individual entities in BiH and transfer funds to the accounts of those banks,” says Nikić.
The members of the Association think that the decision is ”court-martial” because citizens are not able to demand their rights in court.
They say that the Banking Agency of RS must urgently cancel controversial decisions in order to allow guarantors to question these ”suspicions” loans in court.
They also demand examination of the Agency’s work.
The President of the Board of National Assembly of RS for remonstrance, suggestions and social control, Slobodan Protić, said that the issue is quite complex implicating a large number of persons.
After the session of the Parliamentary Committee on the ”position of guarantors and problems they are faced within RS,” Protić said that this problem will be additionally addressed in order to solve this problem by joint efforts.
