Member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, sent the draft state law on natural gas transport, regulator and internal market in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the official procedure.
It is the first time, as stated in the press release, that since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, a comprehensive regulation of the natural gas sector has been proposed.
Previous, unsuccessful attempts to partially regulate this area represented an inadequate approach to such significant segments of the energy sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Bećirović.
In such a way, it was not possible to respond to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations under the EU’s Third Energy Package, nor the obligations from the Treaty on the Establishment of the Energy Community.
